Golf driver shaft length for height

As the title of my posts reads, I want to know if the length of my driver shaft is related to my height/arm length?
My irons are .5' shorter, and when I look at my driver at address the toe points slightly up. Are driver shaft lengths fitted similar to irons?
I am 5'7' and my wrist to floor is 31.5'. I have a Callaway FTiz Reg Flex with a swing speed of 90mph
I understand that cutting the butt will lose 3 swing weights and make the shaft a bit stiffer. The club is currently a D4 which which would bring it down to D1.
I am planning to regrip this driver with an Iomic Opus 2 Art Series grip that weighs 48g. I don't know how much the stock Callaway grip weighs, but I am almost certain it is heavier since it is much thicker than the Iomic. This might help counter balance the swingweight if I decide to trim 1/2' of the butt at the same time.
Can anyone offer some advice before I commit to cutting my shaft?
Thanks!

A standard golf industry chart, such as the one found at The Club Shack, applies your wrist-to-floor measurement to your height to generally determine the length of the clubs that fit you best. For example, if you are 6-feet tall and your wrist-to-floor measurement is 35 inches, a standard length driver - 44 inches for a steel shaft driver and 45 inches for a graphite shaft driver - would be appropriate. In reality, the average length of a driver used on tour is 44.5″, while the average shaft length found in drivers on the shop shelves is around 45.5″. If you struggle with accuracy off the tee, think about asking your fitter to try a slightly shorter shaft.

IMHO, driver length is more about what you can control vs. being a 'geometry problem' related to your height and/or wrist to floor measurement. A somewhat toe up position at address is normal/common as you will probably encounter a little bit of shaft droop at impact and most golfers get to impact with a higher hand position than at impact.
I would first experiment with just choking up on the club. If you feel that the swingweight is too light I would change that with lead tape on the head. A 2 SW point change due to a head weight change (typically 4 grams) is not the same as a 10 gram change in grip weight (even though it will 'measure' the same).

ps. I would not worry about driver lie changes with small changes in length (unless things are really badly off).

I feel your pain! I'm 5'6' lefty (I know, 2 strikes LOL) and have had to toy around with a lot of my gear lately as I've improved and been fitted.
I use a Nike SQ head and previously had a R flex stock Mitsu shaft in the driver. Long story short, after going through lessons and learning about leverage/clubhead release, my driver swing speed went from 91-92mph to 100-102mph. I was overpowering the shaft and having some seriously inconsistent contact and distance: even with a 100+mph clubhead speed I was only getting 126-129mph ball speed and spraying the ball everywhere left of my target line.
I got fitted, installed a Graphite Designs YS-Q 75g shaft and cut 3/4' off the butt. My clubhead speed increased to 103-104, ball speed increased to the low 140s, carry increased 20-25 yards, backspin is in the low 3,000s (working on lowering that, was in the high 4K w/ other shaft  ) and dispersion tightened up drastically as well.
Final result: my nasty slice is gone, I can actually baby draw the ball, total drives of 270+ are common and I'm not having to hunt the ball down in the rough.
Do you have to cut it down??? No, but it has other benefits. Namely better swing tempo (in my case) and giving me better accuracy. I gave up almost an inch in shaft length.. but I gained a MPH or 2 in clubhead speed and over 20 yards in carry distance.

With your stature, the club will certainly be more upright compared to a taller man.
This will make it so 'at contact', the toe will still be too upright, closing the face.
Too long of a club can cause casting problems, resulting in incorrect club head planes.
I personally would consider slightly more, - say 3/4 inch and still have a D
Add lead tape if you want the head feel back.

Thats what I thought, but some people have told me that with a driver lie angle doesnt matter as much as you are hitting off a tee.

    Absolutely not.
Like the previous post by DaveLeeNC, it should be determined by what YOU and your swing can control and get that magic balance of kick and control. My son is 5'3' now and plays a 46' driver! He is as accurate as anyone I have EVER seen off the tee and this is by far the strongest part of his game. He plays the + 1' to get length but it does not effect his accuracy. We fit shafts and loft to get the desired ball flight and spin. I don't believe ina a magic chart that can 'fit' a club to someone. It can get you in the ballpark, but from that point on, there are WAY too many variables to properly do it through any way other that good ole 'trial & error'
My advice is to test and try as many different combination's as you can until you find what works best for you and your swing.

To have proper directional control, the clubhead must be parallel to the ground.
If the club is too long, the toe will be up and the direction will be left.
This will reduce your ability to hit the sweetspot.
Clubs that are too long also get swung on incorrect planes , forcing you to make a compensation.

'A player is allowed to place his or her feet firmly in taking a stance, ..' That doesn't sound like all you did ' ..but is in breach of Rule 8.1a if he or she alters the ground where the stance will be taken ..' Well you certainly did that ' .. if altering the ground improves the area of intended stance.' If it didn't, why did you do it? Certainly seems to fit the bill for a breach What the pros may or may not do means nothing, witness tamping grass down behind ball, leaving ball as backstop

Nope we are in the US and both have Garmin GPS watches that track every shot and record the distance. He has always been a good athlete and pretty strong. He hits his 3 wood about 10 to 20 yards further than my driver and I avg 267. He started taking lessons at the end of last summer and is finally starting to hit his irons a bit better but he still goes through spurts of hitting it off the heal which sends it straight to the right, usually out of bounds or into the water 🙂 I am the opposite, I struggle with my driver, but hit my irons better than most.

Letting my trail arm 'fly' has been a great thing for my game. What's important is that I don't try to 'place' the right arm higher, it's synced with my pivot. I'd film the swing first though to confirm it's actually tucked. Trail elbow might have nothing to do the distance lose. With the younger guys now, I'd say it's the opposite.
